The Rao Musunuru MD Museum and Library

The Rao Musunuru MD Museum and Library stands proudly as a testament to the long history of Pasco County. It began its journey in 1925 when the old schoolhouse it was built from served as a school until it was sold and became a private residence. In 1981, the West Pasco Historical Society took an interest in the property and succeeded in purchasing it and relocating it to Sims Park. After two years of extensive renovations, the building opened to the public on January 16, 1983. In 1992, a library was added and in 2011 the interior was remodeled and renamed in honor of a very generous local donor. There is also a collection of local school yearbooks dating back to the 1940s, an impressive selection of novels and biographies for leisure reading, and a range of books, newspaper articles, photos, and maps of the local area used by historians for their research.
